CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Assistant Registrar, Strategic Communications & Marketing

Communications & Marketing, Office of the Registrar

McMaster University

2022 - present

I lead a team seven talented communications professionals and students. Together, we have built a communications vision and voice for the RO. We are a centrally-based team that treats each RO unit as a client and helps them make meaningful connections with their audiences.

Highlights

  • Created the RO’s inaugural strategic plan; developed priorities, department KPIs and pushed for data-driven decision-making by our management team. Enhanced the strategic plan by developing team goals and KPIs at the Communications and Marketing Unit level, fostering an understanding of how my team moves the RO’s strategic plan, and subsequently, the University priorities, ahead.

  • Launched Funds Finder — a database connecting students to funding opportunities. More than 800 new bursary applications were submitted in the 72 hours after the launch strategy wrapped.

  • Established a survey to benchmark thoughts and sentiments about the RO within several key partner groups on campus. Used the data to build an engagement strategy aimed at these partners. It is currently being executed and will be reevaluated in 2025.
